Day 5: Biotech Spotlight: Speaker Series
In this one day lesson, students deepen their understanding of what it means to work in biotechnology by watching interviews between a high school student and people in various biotechnology careers.
Students begin by hearing from Jennifer Hernandez, a lab technician and undergraduate student who previously earned her associate’s degree. Next, students explore three different local biotechnology pathways at Bay Area community colleges. Finally, students hear from two PhD scientists about their roles in the biotechnology field and what led them there.
